Crisis: Who are you and what are you like during a crisis?
How would you describe yourself when you are in the midst of a crisis? How would those around you describe you when you are in a crisis?
You can say all kinds of things of who and what you are like during a crisis, but until you walk through one, you really don’t know and neither do others.
Going through a crisis, a struggle, you definitely find out who you are at the core of your being. You find out what you are made of.
And you really don’t know someone else until you have witnessed them go through a crisis.
There are a few key things I think of when I am up to my ass (sometimes eyeballs) in alligators:
- I have to look myself in the mirror every day, so it is important for me to be able to live with my decisions, stand firm in my decisions and keep honesty and truth at the forefront
- You can only make the best decision with the information you have at the time – looking back on things, you may have done them differently, but you don’t have the same knowledge and information – that is why they say hindsight is 20/20
- Learn to make peace with your inner self no matter what is going on around you or in you (either spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, or all of the aforementioned).
I am a firm believer that you truly don’t know who you are until you go through something that challenges your very being.
Questions to Ponder:
Who are you when going through a crisis?
What are you like?
Do you like yourself?
Who are you at your core?
What have you learned about yourself?
Can you look yourself in the mirror daily?
