Personal Tip or Opinion of the Day

Personal Tip – Cold Weather – Nov 21/23

Cold Weather:  The biggest key to staying warm in the winter months is to layer.  When you layer, you keep your core temperature up.  If you get too warm, you can take a layer off.

There are so many different options now a days for staying warm:  You can buy jackets, hoodies, vests, socks, insoles, etc. that plug in and charge that offer a variety of temperature settings that can assist in keeping warm.

When buying boots, you want your boots to be half a size bigger as you do not want them to be too tight.  If they are tight, your feet will get cold easily – you need to be able to wear a thick sock and have some air around your foot to stay warm.

For warm pants, you can get pants lined with either fleece or flannel, which are really nice and comfortable to wear while keeping your legs nice and toasty.

Always keep some extra warm clothes, a blanket, some outer wear, water bottles, granola bars or something to eat, a shovel, and a candle in a tin in your vehicle when travelling long distances just in case. It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!!

Questions to Ponder:

Do you get cold easy?

Do you dress for the weather?

Do you layer?
