The Birth of TIPINIONS …

It was always a dream of mine growing up to write an opinions column for the New York Times.  Funny thing is I never chose to become a writer as I grew older.  I am now close to 50 and I have been reflecting on life and its spins and turns.  I still say to people – I haven’t figured out what I want to be when I grow up!

I have had a very adventurous life - traveling, living other places, working in many different sectors and industries, jobs, careers and many different opportunities throughout the years.  I have met many amazing people along the way and continue to meet new people, while maintaining and building on past relationships.  I have learned a lot of different skills both personally and professionally. I have enjoyed a lot of times and made good memories. I have struggled at times and made my way through those as well.

My life hasn’t always been pretty, but it has definitely been colorful!

I have learned through the hard times it is important to laugh – if you don’t laugh you’ll just cry anyway – and tears from laughter feel very different than tears of sorrow.

I wanted to provide a place where people could go somewhere quick in the morning or throughout the day and get a pick me up – a laugh – an aha moment – a giggle – learn something – share something – put a smile on someone’s face!

People are much sexier when they smile!!

For years, it has been a daily challenge of mine to give someone I meet a reason to smile – it could be the cashier, gas attendant, new client, anyone – they just have to be a stranger or someone I do not know very well.  On bad days, struggling days that was hard to do as I was struggling to smile myself but then you never know what is going on in someone else’s life.

So this is a place to get some tips, opinions and ideas – be creative, and hopefully smile!

I also wanted to do something every day that I am truly passionate about and this blog is what I came up with – it’s my baby!
