Personal Tip – Fire Insurance – Jan 18/24

Fire Insurance:  We had a fire in our city yesterday in an apartment block – one that was being built, so no one was hurt or lives changed for that matter.

In saying that though, it gets me to think about sharing this information.

Do you have enough insurance?  A lot of renters do not feel the need to get insurance as they do not own the building.

When you purchase a house, the bank forces people getting a mortgage to have sufficient insurance to cover the costs.

However, a lot of renters don’t consider renter’s insurance a huge necessity, but it is.  If you lost everything you have worked hard to achieve to obtain – how would it affect your life?  Significantly, I would say.

A lot of people look at the risk and believe it to be low of happening to them, but it does happen, it has happened.

For the minimal expense that renter’s or tenant’s insurance costs, it is well worth the benefit of having to make sure your investment (all of your belongings) are covered if something were to happen.

Questions to Ponder:

Have you looked into tenant insurance?

Do you know how little it costs on a monthly basis?

Is the risk worth it, if you don’t get it?

I know a few people in the past that have not had it and they would say the risk isn’t worth it.  They lost everything due to fire, smoke and water damage.  They had to start over completely and they were struggling on a monthly basis as is without losing their life’s belongings.  Some people are fortunate and get donated items and such but putting your faith in someone else’s hands is a risk not worth taking.

Please look after yourself and your family and invest in the right insurance for you today!
