Personal Tip or Opinion of the Day

Personal Tip – Stretching – Sept 14/23

Stretching:  This is what I call the zone when life gets uncomfortable.

We all have our comfort zones and then the times where life gets uncomfortable.

This is when you are being stretched, changing, going through things.

In your comfort zone, you feel safe, secure, confident, relaxed and generally happy.  Life seems to be going your way.

When you are being stretched, you feel insecure, lack safety and confidence, have a raft of emotions, and everything seems up in the air.

It is not a very nice place to exist or be.

However, this is the place where you become a better you – you learn, you grow, you see things differently, you move.

We all go through the different zones at different times in our life.

I like to think that when we are being stretched, we become better – when we go through things it can take a lot out of us and it tends to smooth out the rough edges.

We learn how to solve more problems, deal with challenges while gaining new skills to deal with things.

Depending on what we are going through and how we choose to deal with it, depends on the time frame that the stretching lasts.

I have found in my experience, when we go through this period that it is highly beneficial to ask the question – “what am I supposed to learn through this”.  It shortens the length of time going through it as it gets straight to the point and opens you up to understand the experience better.

After we have more understanding and compassion for others.

We become more relatable.

We can help more people, if we choose.

Questions to Ponder:

Do you recognize when you are in your comfort zone?

Do you recognize the stretching period?

What do you usually do when you are being stretched?

How do you feel?

Do you recognize when others around you are being stretched?

How do you help them?
