Helping Yourself:  How do you stay grounded?

What does being grounded mean to you?

For me, it means being unmovable, being stable, being centered in my truth with the confidence to stand my ground…

When you are floundering, when life gets chaotic, when things don’t make sense – that is when you need to seek and find your grounding.

What helps ground you?

For me, I like to hold onto a rock.  I have rocks all around me – inside and outside of my house – I collect them.  When my world is getting crazy, I hold on to one and I feel part of something bigger than me and it brings me back to center.  It is actually pretty amazing just how it connects you to the earth, how it strengthens you.

A friend of mine gardens – she plays in the dirt and it centers her.

Another friend of mine hugs a tree – it connects her to something strong and deep.

There are many ways that help people feel centered, a lot of which is a direct connection to the earth and its elements.

Find what works for you and utilize it when you need it.

Teach these techniques to your children – it can be highly beneficial.
